Backpacking in Oregon

People are retiring older, moving faster longer and keeping fit.  At 53 I would have never guessed I would be hiking 20 miles, carrying a 36 pound backpack and singing songs along a wilderness trail in Oregon but you go where life takes you and this summer it took me and my family to Oregon, again.  I love Oregon, it is not only beautiful and majestic it is full of wonder and wilderness, quiet solitude and snow in August.

Our adventure was guided and shared by our friends the Anderson's, who throughout the year call Hawaii home.   They are an adventurous and beautiful family that we are grateful to have in our lives.

The photos I post here are just a sampling of the beauty offered to those who push to be just a bit more than they were yesterday. Nelda  (c)2011 Nelda Mays Photography, Inc.
